Useless, they gave me a phone number that was not helpful at all.

This organisation is worse than useless. Having spent a substantial amount of time emailing them regarding a trader who doesn`t display prices, and charged me 50% more than the original quote I was given, I then got an automated response from Trading Standards directing me to the Citizens Advice Bureau. When I clicked on the link that Trading Standards had givenn me, it went to a 404 "page not found", thus wasting yet more of my time. When I eventually found the correct consumer advice page, it stated that there is currently no online consumer advice service whatsoever due to their being an enormous backlog! Is it any wonder that traders can rip customers off when there are clearly no watchdogs to keep a check on them. If trading standards don`t deal with issues such as the above, what exactly does this toothless, innept and incompetent organisation do? Perhaps it should begin by bringing itself up to the 21st century and at least make sure it`s web links work properly. I also think it should change it`s name to "No Trading Standards, since it`s inneptitude allows traders to do exactly what they want.
