Glenalmond House - Please book direct for our best rate

Had a long weekend in Edinburgh and stayed at Glenalmond guest house .About a 30 minute scenic walk to and from the city centre,also on direct bus route with buses every few minutes ,lots of places to walk in and eat close to Glenalmond if youre like me and didnt book places to eat in advance . Ican highly recommend a stay here .Jimmy and Fiona are wonderful hosts,the hygiene standard high and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious.I recommend booking directly with Fiona and jimmy .I will definitely stay here again!

Seriously, what an exceptional stay weve had! The photos dont do the house justice and must be seen in person to understand what an amazing experience it is to stay here. Everyday starts with a breakfast and coffee or tea. The menu has many delicious options and my partner and I had fun making our way through the menu. We felt like this was more like staying at a large family home - we will be back and are sad to be leaving such a marvelous place. Our hosts were amazing, thank you so much!

I booked Glenalmond House for my husband's stay in Edinburgh. At the last minute they notified him that his stay was canceled due to flooding. They provided no guidance as to where else he might book, and at that point prices in Edinburgh had become very high all around. At the end of the planned stay, which they canceled and he never had, they billed him and charged his credit card. He let them know about their error and they refunded him the amount, but since the exchange rate changed he lost about $7 US dollars. I don't understand why they billed him in the first place and they refuse to compensate him for the exchange rate difference. I plan on filling a complaint with their local government. Why would they bill for a reservation that they canceled?
