The hotel is unjustifiably expensive for the value. Not worth the price. It is old and facilities are not up to standard. We could hear an annoying boiler noise from our room that woke us up at 6am on Sunday morning: we asked one of the staff to change room and the lady said the hotel was fully booked without even asking the reason of our request. We asked again to another member of staff the same evening and he eventually kindly gave us another room. The only good thing is the location as the hotel is close to the Old town

What a lovely clean, well presented hotel. Staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Rooms lovely and spacious and clean. We were placed in room 15 which is at the top of the hotel. There is a lift but only goes to the 3rd floor so had to walk up another flight of stairs. Not ideal if you have knee issues. So make sure you ask for a room on a lower floor or one where the lift goes too. Other than that issue, there are no issues. It's a lovely hotel, lounge is nice, bar is limited but they will try. They do provide breakfast for an additional cost, but we didn't bother, so can't comment on that. They don't provide any other meals which is a shame. Even tea and sandwiches would be a nice choice when you return back to the hotel after being out all day. Would recommend this hotel as only a short walk to bars and shopping centre and about a 5-10 min from main shops and activities. Walkability: A few minutes walk to bars and shopping centre. 3- 5 min to Waverly station, 5-10 minutes walk to main shops and activities. 15-20 min walk to castle.
