Nice, neat and clean little hotel. With an extraordinary friendly host. He made us feel very welcome and is very knowledgeable about the area and can give you good tipps where to go and what to see. He also speaks without Scottish accent, which is very helpful if you are not used to it. 4 stars only because it didnt meet our impressions we got from booking the hotel online. There you see very extravagant looking rooms, that they of course have, but ours was more traditional style to our disappointment. The room was big though. TV and fast guest WIFI although we were on the third floor under the roof are also a clear plus. For our taste the mattress of our king-size bad was too hard, and also had two mattresses, so there was the typical crack in the middle, not so good for cuddles, unfortunately. But that is like I said just a personal thing. A little minus - but probably just we were on the third floor- the water pressure of the shower wasnt so great. To solve that there was a unusual tap more like a machine. The hotel has a good connection to the public bus transport, that brings you within 10-15 min into the lovely city center or to the beach. As a little treat, there is always a serving of shortbread cookies on the reception desk. All in all a good experience. As a side Note: Edinburgh is a very beautiful and picturesque city, that i can only recommend to visit.
