Major learning disabled training required for every one of your doctors

The doctors (with the exception of one) are thorough and professional. Same for the receptionists when you can get through. This practice however has a terrible problem with its phone system. I don't know if it is a tech issue or human error but I can see from the other reviews I'm not the only person who experiences this. You sit on hold for up to 30 mins and when you reach the front of the queue the call immediately drops. I don't know what is causing it, but it is demoralising, extremely stressful (especially when seeking urgent help for your children or, I'd imagine, elderly relatives), and it needs to be addressed. It's not good enough to operate a system that routinely promises an answer to a call and then simply dumps callers off the line. The practice needs to sort its tech or ensure proper staff training so that the phone system is operated correctly to avoid this happening. Obviously queuing for a call to be answered is frustrating and happens everywhere, but I've never come across anything like this in any previous NHS GP practice, in Edinburgh or elsewhere.

I am apparently meant to be seen regularly - according to one of their doctors - but impossible to get appointments with any frequency. I call all times of day and would lose my job if I spent any more time on the phone. Receptionists force you to discuss confidential information where overheard by others. Apparent total inability to even communicate to pharmacy literally next door, never mind anyone else outside the practice. One of male doctors very cynical and condescending, even when it comes to children. Female doctor shouted at me today on call because she had sicker patients to speak to. Would have maybe been fair enough if I had actually asked her to call me, which I didnt l; especially nice given Im a mental health patient Dont seem to be able to maintain accurate records even within practice and certainly incapable of maintaining any contact with other healthcare providers. After 21 years, Im off to find a new GP. Everywhere is overstretched but hopefully not everywhere is so grossly unprofessional

After 44 minutes of ringing, they just hung up. This is consistent with this practice. Thankfully I'm not seriously ill or in need of assistance as you can't rely on this out of date and poorly resourced and managed practice.
