Pure magic! Loved this place. Toomey is an artist. This was the most amazing restaurant experience - we left delighted, ecstatic even. The surprise tasting menu was fun, really enjoyable and, of course, delicious. This was world-class. *No spoilers*. The mystery behind each course kept us guessing, kept us wanting more! The courses each had so many little touches, nuances, intracasies and detail, and depth that catches you - everything here made us smile on the inside and out. The wine pairing was second-to-none, with a thorough, best-in-class guide adding a whole other journey to our evening. This was really fun. The service is sophisticated, sure, but it's friendly, upbeat and very sincere: nothing dour here. Condita's is definitely a place of substance. Everything here was genuine, everything here was authentic. It was a privelege to have visited. We're so very very thankful. Me and my son, Archie, will never forget our time here. We made some amazing memories - and we'll, for sure, be back to make some more. I'd highly recommend as the first choice for anyone's tour of Edinburgh's Michelin stars. This is a 'must visit' for any foodie.

While I'll eat anything, my wife was a little nervous about the tasting menu as she sometimes has texture issues. However, everything was just simply fantastic. I hope people don't look at pictures of food others may have posted of the "surprise tasting menu" and go in to enjoy food and experience. As one can expect from a Michelin starred restaurant, everything else (decor, service, environment, etc.) were all superb. I was surprised it was such a small and intimate restaurant with only 6 tables. Otherwise, it seems they are constantly changing their decor with the menu to utilize local ingredients. The only other thing I would recommend is getting the wine pairings (we got 5, a champagne, 2 whites, and 2 reds). They paired quite nicely with the progression of food. I do wish they offered a smaller portion wine tasting, as 5 full glasses is quite a bit, especially with the 2 cocktails we had before. Although, I usually like to take pictures of food for scrapbooking, the only photo I took was of the 'menu' and enjoyed the ephemeral nature of the experience. Anyway, a solid 5/5 and would highly recommend. Vegetarian options: You can request vegetarian/pescatarian menus beforehand.
