Regularly visit Zest & Co, it is a lovely place to eat with friendly and helpful staff. The food is always excellent with a good variety every day. My sis and I often go halfers so we get a taste of two things :) During lockdown I have been getting the Zest at Home deliveries, as a treat. The bread is an absolute bargain, good quality fresh loaf. Quiches and tarts (have tried the lemon, chocolate and pear/almond options) are excellent. Different salads every week provide a nice choice. Just had the charred sweetcorn, artichoke and tomato with harissa dressing salad, can't wait til it is on the menu again. Roll on next week :)

I started working in the area at the start of 2019, and have been generally enjoying the place. That changed today though. Myself and a colleague got turned away entirely for service (some filled morning rolls) because one of their front of house staff deemed the kitchen to be 'too busy'. To be clear, there was 1 table filled upstairs, and 6 other customers already awaiting orders. That's not busy. We were also prepared to wait (it was around 10:30) but we were both completely refused. To echo one of the other reviews below, yes, their ordering system needs an overhaul - but after today, their general demeanour and customer handling should also be reviewed. On the up side, myself and my colleague ventured up the hill and found an alternative vendor that has supplied us with a very satisfying repast.

Unfortunately despite the quality of the morning rolls from Zest & Co, the ordering system and time it takes to place your order at busy periods is very disappointing. They have an electronic till but still also write all orders on paper and then hand these to the chef as well as repeating the order verbally. This system doesn't work when you have one person taking orders. They could learn a lot from the process used in Fox & Co nearby - although the rolls are much better at Zest & Co. When ordering by phone you often get hung up on if it's busy - today we have phoned from 9.00am and it is now 10:30am and we still haven't managed to speak to anyone as when we call it answers then hangs up. Even if you go in and order there's often 2 staff members standing doing nothing at the coffee machines as only one person seems to be allowed to take orders - hence it takes so long.
