I tried to move money from my Nationwide savings account to a savings account with another provider in March, as they offered a better interest rate. Nationwide blocked the transfer and also blocked access to my savings account, current account and online banking. I need access to my savings to pay rent and bills due to the increase in the cost of living. Nationwide have refused to let me access my own money for 8 months, causing a lot of financial difficulty. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years and this is how they treat you. Things are difficult enough in the current economy, without financial service providers making it worse by preventing you from accessing your own savings. Nobody on the phone or in the branch will give me a reason for my accounts being blocked and I don't know who to contact for help.
