not what you would expect from a longstanding accountancy firm... wrong info or assumption included in the corporation tax returns... numerous dedicated accountant changes and there was also an instance when the accountant advised they have submitted for relief due to trading losses but turned out that never actually happened...

15 years with SJD. Perfectly adequate for the first 12 years. Failure to deliver accounts 2019 so penalty from HMRC. No apology or compensation but gave them benefit of doubt. Accounts due end August never delivered. Atrocious customer service and professional standards . Genuinely feel this is a broken company. Avoid at all costs. No adequqte response from accountancy staff to failure. No response at all from complaints@

Made a total mess of my accounts and now cannot speak to anyone since lockdown and they wont answer the phones or reply to emails due to an apparent outage. Absolutely shocking and having to resort to a formal complaint and independent accounts investigation as Im now being chased by HMRC. these people have ruined a big part of my life. Stay away UPDATE June 2022: I ended up having to pay 2800 to HMRC due to SJD messing everything up. It turns out it had been overdue and was close to being fined - all my correspondence went to them and they never thought to alert me - it was until I received a final notice from them directly. They had completely buggered up my accounts and filed errors which resulted in me having to settle it all ... years later after my company was dissolved. Agin my advice would be stay away!!

The first three years were excellent. Then my dedicated accountant was changed four times within a year. Since then while I've been paying a monthly fee I had to constantly chase SJD up to make sure they meet filing deadlines and explain every single thing that needed to be done - from self assessment, through VAT returns to yearly accounts. The average response time to a query has gone from same day to 1 month. Earlier this year the company had a security breach that rendered the online bookkeeping system unusable for two months and the data available on the dark web. Utterly unreliable with below appalling customer service. Just cancelled my contract with them after 4 years and have given my business to a local accountant.
