I hired David Gladdon the owner of Solway Plumbers to install a kitchen. When he came to look at the job he said it would take 4 days and his time would cost 300.00 per day which took me a back as 6 months earlier he did 4 hours work for me and charged 120.00 basically 30.00 per hour, nevertheless I agreed to the price as he said it would only take 4 days and that he could do all the work including plumbing, plastering, Joinery & electrics. The job took him 10.5 days and he tried to charge me 3700.00 with a 10% discount for early settlement. I refused to pay that much and told him I would give him 2000.00 which he duly accepted. We called in a plastering company last week and he was shocked to see the state of David Gladdons work so called in qualified electricians to inspect the work and we found that he had not correctly wired the sockets or the Hob and his plastering was atrocias. My advice to anyone thinking of using his services please dont, he is nothing more than a cowboy.
