MacDuff Castle

Amazing bit of history here. More around about too. Only small thing I would complain about is the fact that the gate that is ment to prevent you from getting into the lower level is easy to just climb and get up to where there has been a hole broken in the wall. The people who upkeep this might want to try see if they can make it more difficult or nearly impossible to get into otherwise I can only see some drunk teenagers getting in and an accident happening witch would likely end up in the whole thing being blocked from the public.

MacDuff Castle is easy to access from the central road along the coast. There is some parking available next to the cemetery where you pull off. The walk from the castle ruins goes down to the beach and several sea caves that you can explore. The sea caves were the location of several Pictish settlements and have some very interesting history. Some information can be found on signs along the hike. It was a lovely hike and made for great photos.
