The Murray Arms Hotel & Seafood Restaurant

Our party had two rooms this April. One was 140 L, the other 150 L. They were so tiny one had to crawl over the bed to get in or out. There was no place to open a suitcase, no glass, no shelves in the bath, no reading light, no bed-side table. These rooms would have been minimal in a hostel at 25 L. Eat at the Murray Arms but don't even think of staying the night. Bruce MacPhail

So friendly and welcoming. The seafood is delicious. The scallops are large and lovely, but the flavoured butter could be more generous. Having a caramelised scallop (and bacon ) option would be amazing. For those not keen on shellfish, the haddock and chips is superbly cooked and delicious. There is also a steak option on the evening menu now. They've excellently renovated the restaurant and bar and it all looks superb.

We visited here for food today at lunchtime. The food was tasty, reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. The orkney fudge cheesecake was delicious. It was the end of season so it was very quiet. There wasn't a huge range of foods on the lunch menu and we couldn't order from the dinner menu as it was lunchtime. We also couldn't get chips with our toasties which would've been better. Would come back in summer though.
