I phoned at 1058 this morning I was number 1 on the phone waiting list Its now 1209 pm Still awaiting an answer It goes from ringing tone back to looped music and returns to ringing tone While mobile is waiting I have tried land line to be told number 10 on the list Surely to goodness it shouldnt take over an hour to speak to a receptionist at your GP surgery Yup we are in difficult times but currently unable to walk and get myself down to the surgery to get both test results and an appointment for a couple of weeks time is not the best which is the politest way of puting it I can say

At least Indian call centres answer the phone! I recently had an appointment to see a Dr and decided to call the Kirkview number from the waiting room, lo and behold "you're in a queue" but nobody is on the phone. Pick up the phone! A recent Daily Record article said "Kirkview Medical Practice was rated the worst GP surgery in East Kilbride and featured in the bottom 12 in Lanarkshire in a recent survey" So there you go, if you get chucked out they're doing you a favour, things can only get better.

Didn't imagine several years ago I would only give a one-star review. GPs continue to be supportive, whenever you can actually see one. The few long-term receptionists still working at the practice are also supportive,if you are lucky enough for one to answer your call. The main issue I believe is the practice management...phone system is a hit or miss. Frequently told I'm number 2,3,4 in the queue then an extremely lengthy message follows about how busy the practice is, after which a man's voice says "Goodbye". For management it is important to note that patients who telephone the practice for an appointment are unwell and this procedure which has become the norm in my opinion causes a great deal of stress. I suffer from mental health issues and become very anxious at the thought of telephoning for an appointment because of the above. I so wish we still received the service given to us by the Dykers and the systems in place during the time of the Mackintosh practice. In spite of all the very negative comments above I must thank Drs Watson and Young for the tremendous support I received from them several years ago.
