Gormac Construction Limited

We employed Gormac Construction to construct a single level, rear extension to our home, following many months of obtaining quotes from other local contractors. Whilst some quotes were beyond our budget, most fell within what we were hoping to spend. However, Ewan was very patient with us, honest and as passionate about the project as we were, which was one of the main reasons we were pleased to proceed with Gormac... When works got underway Grant, Stephen and Jake-Blu were all fantastic, happy to talk us through every stage and, moreover, ensured we did not waiver when half our house was being demolished in preparation for the build. After we had moved out the boys just got on with things and made very quick progress week on week, to the extent that we estimated they were some 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule by the time the property was wind & watertight again. Grant was extremely helpful when some entirely unnecessary and unjustified disputes were being raised by neighbours, and was pivotal in coming up with some alterations to the build in order to satisfy certain demands being made by those neighbours. Like any project, some unexpected works became necessary and although increased costs became inevitable, Ewan was open and honest throughout, ensuring that we signed off on all additional costs before those works proceeded. In terms of the quality of work, we have been most impressed. We have been back home for approximately a month and we have no complaints whatsoever. The new room is exactly how I had imagined it to be when designing it with the Architect. I recently celebrated my 40th and loved having family and friends over to show off the new extension, with each and every one of them commenting on the build quality. As to the subbies employed by Gormac, all were equally as accommodating and very skilled in their respective fields. Special mention to Greg, the finishing Joiner, whose works installing our new kitchen continue to impress. As a Insurance Loss Adjuster I sadly see the negative side of many build projects, with defective workmanship and poor quality materials often the cause of substantial loss and grief for the customers involved. I'm therefore so relieved that we chose to go with Gormac Construction, whose communication and patience was as meaningful to me and my family as their skills and expertise in constructing what is a lovely addition to our home. Ewan, Grant and co, I'll miss the routine phone calls and visits to the 'site', but you can be reassured you'll be remembered by us all. Thanks again! Simon and family

After a lengthy period trying to find a contractor to rebuild our garage, in a busy domestic post Covid-19 world, Gormacs interest and enthusiasm was very welcome. From the outset and through our build Ewan provided good communication and a detailed quote / scope of works. He was happy to review his quote and reduce his scope at our request when we were reviewing our spending. Once the work started, he co-ordinated the various activities and subcontractors well. Overall, I am happy with our new garage construction experience.

Gormac construction have recently finished our single story extension and we are very pleased with the service they provided. When I first met the owner Ewan for a quote I was impressed with his enthusiasm and general positive attitude. The quote we were given subsequently was very detailed with each individual element of the build costed separately. This made it easy to see where the money was going and to budget for the upcoming payments during the build itself. Throughout the build everything was well managed with little or no delay between each phase meaning the project progressed well and was finished quicker than I would have expected. Communication was good throughout and any challenges they came across were quickly highlighted, discussed and overcome. Overall the experience from start to finish was very positive and we are happy with the final product.
