The Red Lion, Earlston

We booked an overnight stay at the last minute. If we could give 6 stars out of 5 then we would :)). Due to bad weather and a road closure we arrived really late but the owners waited up for us and even offered us food when we got there. Nothing was too much trouble. The en-suite room was amazing. Lovely comfortable bed and everywhere spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing and never ending.everything there you could wish to eat. Car park in the front is safe. To wait up for us to arrive was truly one of the kindest things. Our heartfelt thanks and we will be going back. Robert and Joanne :))) Rooms: Tv, tea and coffee facilities. Temperature fine. View out window lovely. Bath and BBC shower.

Incredible experience. I expected a standard run of the mill Inn.....The Red Lion exceeded all expectations. The room was stunning with loads of character and spotlessly clean. My partner and I only wish we could bring it home with us. The owners, (Curt and Suzie) were tremendous hosts. Very helpful in providing tips on where to visit and going out of their way to help us (e.g. helped when my car had a glitch, provided a dog bed, bowls etc). The breakfast is delicious and the dinner even better (especially the steak.) If they still have the Tempest IPA on tap, ask for it, one of the best IPAs I've had in some time. They were also great with my very excitable (and very large) young Golden Retriever! Stellar experience, can't wait to visit again!

My daughter and I were in the Borders to see some friends and we had a lovely stay here. Our room was so stylish and luxurious, really quite breathtaking. The beds were incredibly comfy and the quality of the linen was like a top hotel. The owners were absolutely lovely. They made us a fantastic breakfast and were great in telling us about local things we could do. I'd definitely recommend staying here, it's like staying with a family but like a boutique hotel too.
