Poorly stocked, poorly organis ed and expensive. A suspicious amount of near-dated stock.

This was the first time that I have shopped here as I was passing through. I parked along the back wall which faces onto a main road. It had Co-OP in large letters but what would of helped was an arrow pointing to which end of the building the entrance was, I ended up having to walk all around the building which is large and not easy on a walking stick, so please put an entrance sign. It does have a large car park which I later found. The store was clean and well lit. There was no one on the tills so only the self serve was available at what was a busy time 5pm.

Although it saves the drive to Berwick, lately it's been pretty poorly stocked. On a recent visit couldn't get any of the items on my list (parsnips, sweet potato, cauliflower, asparagus). Saturday mornings the veggie aisle is usually stripped bare and there's only the odd bag of salad left lingering. Staff are really friendly and generally very helpful too, even when it gets busy. However as with all Co-ops it's very expensive and there's no alternative in town. Lately the car park has been a nightmare with people parking for the newly opened Jim Clark museum. More than once I've driven round and straight back out as there were no spaces. The parking should only be for people shopping at the Co-op as Duns has plenty of spaces nearer the museum and in the town centre and surrounding streets. I think Co-op needs to ensure that's the case so that people buying heavy items are able to find a space to park :)
