Fife Social Services are the single worst department I have ever engaged in my life. As a Guardian I have to deal with them frequently. I asked for assistance with a stairlift for my mum. The first one had substantive defects and had to be replaced. The second one collapsed and nearly seriously injured my mum falling down the stairs. I asked for assistance with a ramp, they designed one that wasn't fit for purpose and was 3 times more expensive than relaying my entire driveway. They came in to assist with installation of a wetfloor bathroom. They flooded my kitchen, not once but twice and drove a screw through the plug socket in the bedroom causing my wifes iPhone to blow up. The removed insulation and never replaced it. They have to do an annual review as a matter of course as part of guardianship, but how they do that is a complete mystery because the social worker is different each time. Every time I ask for assistance it ends in a complete bloody catastrophy. Personally I wish the Scottish Government would take away social services from the council because in Fife they are useful as a chocolate teapot. A bunch of smug pencil pushing jobsworth that who's work ethic has the consistency of wet pasta.
