I was really looking forward to eating here as the reviews were so good. All started well on the food front with some very tasty squid which we shared. The beer was good, I'm told, but my white wine was not that cold and not that special - I still drank it! I then ordered margarita pizza with extra chilli and my partner had a chicken dish with a cream and chorizo sauce. My pizza was okay, it didn't transport me to Italy but it was nice and I wanted heat which the chilli didn't give, I've had much better. My partner really didn't like his dish at all. My pet hate is reheated potato and his dish had those, why is this now the norm? My salad had a large amount of onion, I ordered a green leaf salad, and a few slimy leaves so I fished those out. A slightly underwhelming olive oil dressing which was okay. On the plus the staff were great, apart from the man who called me a young woman, I'm not, I'm 56 years old and very much look it. The comment made me feel ancient and patronised, I may look ancient but I can still spot when I'm being treated like an old fool! But onto the ice cream, my favourite raspberry ripple - yum yum. My partner had chocolate and strawberry which he again didn't enjoy and left some, I mean he left it and he never leaves a pudding! Maybe it was us, the reviews certainly didn't seem to agree with our findings, maybe we just didn't appreciate it.
