Myself and friends had a very nice meal here. Word of warning: If you can't handle hot, spicy food, ask for the korma (which wasn't hot or spicy) or mention to the servers to tone the hottness down a bit, as the food marked spicy is very hot. The restaurant is tucked away up a small side street, which is on a hill, and there are steps inside the restaurant so people who are infirm or in a wheelchair might need assistance. The large set of stairs to the left in one of my photos leads up to the bus station. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. The prices were on par with similar establishments. There is on street parking for about 3 cars on Bruce Street (Council pay & display) and further parking across the road through the alleyway and down a stairway to the Glenbridge car park (again Council pay & display). Bus station 2min walk up the stairs outside. Parking: Pay with coins or the Ringo app. Free after 6pm or before 9am.

Delivered on time but we are now trying to calm the burning on our lips, in our mouths and down our throats. My son & partner are used to spicy food but this was off the scale . If we had ordered Madras or similar then that is expected but spinach & paneer side dish, pasanda & tikka masala mains were all unbearably spicy & even the mushroom rice was spicy. In particular I ordered what should have been very mild food as at present I am unable to tolerate anything so spicy it burns. Aromatic spices that flavour a dish & have no heat (how it should be) are what it should have been like for my ordered. 48 for 3 people (a main , rice, bread for each and one side dish is very expensive & this was with the 20% Tuesday discount. If you want to have Burns on your lips, in your mouth and down your throat then this is the lace for you. This was meant to be a celebration dinner. What an absolute dissappointment.

Poor, poor and poor. Home alone so thought I'd treat myself to a nice meal. Ordered a Chicken Tikka Nashidar (Chef's speciality) and a green chilli and coriander nan, over 17 so I thought it'll be good, sadly not. The chicken was tough and the sauce bland, meant to be a meduim heat dish but not a hint of a kick. I mean if it had some flavour I would perhaps forgive it but just plain bland. Now, if the chicken was tough, the nan was something else. Ive been enjoying Indian food for over 40 years now and have never, ever had a tough nan. I stopped using the Viceroy many years ago after a really bad meal but after being taken there for a sit in meal recently, absolutely delish, I though it was perhaps time to give a takeaway another go, after this experience I don't think I'll bother again. On the upside delivery via Dunfermline Eats was quick and the delivery guy was really pleasant.

My favourite Indian in Dunfermline, hands down! A hidden gem tucked away, unassuming and easily missed. If you are the kind of person who looks inside a restaurant, sees it's empty and says that must be a sign, you couldn't be more wrong. I was guilty of the same scepticism once. The viceroy, however, will make you eat your words, as well as some proper quality curry! Vibrant, colourful curries, and lots of them to chose from! The naan breads are MASSIVE! Like, as big as my forearm massive! Peshawari naan alongside garlic chilli chicken masala (slightly hot) has never let me down. My only regret is that I didn't take a photo to share with you. Very friendly staff, great curries and portion sizes at reasonable prices, especially compared to another Indian in Dunfermline people probably know a lot better! Addendum; remembered my mate had taken a photo of my hand next to the Peshawari naan bread. So much and so tasty!
