Gareth is a young architect who managed to find solutions to what might for others have seemed insurmountable difficulties during the conversion of a derelict listed Georgian church just feet from the sea on the west of Shetland. Innovative solutions included the provision of viewing platforms at the bedroom skylights so they complied with fire access regulations whilst retaining the original exterior appearance of the building. The conversion has been an extraordinary success and without Gareth's help I fear the project would have foundered at an early stage. Well done, and thank you. Joe Darrell
