Great museum with knowlegible staff. Lots of working machines and a particularly good section on social aspects related to the jute trade in Dundee. I also had an excellent sandwich and salad.

This is one of the best museuns I have visited. It speaks honestly about the jute industry and this makes it highly cobtempirary and a tribute to the people who worked there as well as to the city of Dundee. I really liked the focus on the cobtribution of women and the exploitation of Empire and Colonialism. Really brave The curation, objects, films and storytelling talk of peoples, places and the harsh realities of 19thC industrialisation and the severity of business competition in the 20thC. You cannot cease to be amazed by the narrative, objects and sheer determination of everyone in this industry. The cafe is great too - and the staff are exceptional. You will not regret a visit here. Indeed, you are likely to return endlessly.

Visited for the first time with friends at the weekend. Staff very friendly and helpful in cafe/ ticket counter. Useful 'starter' chat from volunteer Barbara before heading off to the buildings to explore... explanations technical in places ( understandably) but interesting things to smell, touch and experience for all ages Social history Floor great and the main mill was very impressive. Parking good
