It was nice to get a feel for how astronomy used to be conducted - in the cold and looking through a real telescope. Unfortunately, though the new telescope has pretty good optics, because it doesn't have an equatorial mount, the volunteer had to spend most of the evening realigning the instrument and that meant that even with only a few visitors the pace was very slow and we didn't get much viewing time.

Took the kids up, the staff member at the telescope was very rude and condersending, he shouted and was physically shaking with anger because we asked if the kids could just look through a small telescope as it was cloudy just so it wasn't a wasted journey for them, disgusting behaviour in front of children, the manager was helpfull and fully listened to our complaint.
