I would love to be able to write a review detailing the excellence of Star Clean, service but unfortunately I cannot. I have rang their numbers and left several messages over a period of two weeks, including my phone numbers and email address, as yet despite all my calls, nothing. So I have decided to stop calling them and find someone who actually is interested in new clients. Also if you are going to use and absorb the cost of an answering service to make your company look bigger and more impressive than it actually is, Its actually better for your image to answer the calls they pass on. Re- reply from Cheryl. Thanks for the reply, just for your information I have personally spoken to your answering service three times in the past week with the assurance someone would get back to me. As for you phoning me, may I suggest leaving a message on my answering machine to avoid any further confusion. I note that the only time I have had any kind of reply, was within an hour or so of posting this review.

Pretty poor. Actually very poor. I used them to clean my flat for 90 minutes/fortnightly for a couple of months. Friendly and helpful to set up, and the first visit was good and they did a good job in the bathroom and kitchen. However subsequent visits were very poor with kitchen cleaning half done, fewer rooms cleaned overall but us still being charged for the full 90 minutes. The standard continued to deteriorate and despite a couple of emails trying to fix this we saw no improvement and I cancelled the contract after only a few months.

My partner and I recently used Star Clean to carry out a 'Deep Clean'. The quality of work carried out was shocking, and the service that we have received since then is nothing short of horrendous. So we are writing this story to warn others of this company, and to ensure that you don't make the same mistake that we did. We have since found that this company has a track record of providing bad service to their customers, just have a look at the other reviews on here, and on their Facebook page too, you will see similar stories. I've never seen a company with so many 1 star reviews in my life, I just wish that we had seen those reviews before contacting them to place a booking. I strongly advise all readers to avoid this company, I wouldn't wish what we have experienced with them on anyone. There are much better cleaning companies around the Dundee area, ones that will provide a professional service, ones that care about customer service and that are accountable for their actions. ****REVIEW UPDATE****** We thought that this company couldn't get any lower, but we have been proven wrong. Upon leaving this review, and one on Facebook too. We have since received a letter from Star Cleans solicitors, they have accused us of being aggressive and demanding that we remove our online reviews as they are Defamatory! Unbelievable!! We have been nothing but honest and sincere, we have told the truth about the bad service that this company has provided to us. We didn't want it to end this way, we tried to resolve things sensibly but they bullied us with the threat of court action and forced us to pay for something that wasn't provided. Also, we informed them that if they wouldn't reduce the bill accordingly that we would be taking this story to social media for others to find out. They were aware that this would happen. The whole point of online reviews are for customers to leave honest feedback, which we have done. We will not be further bullied by you Cheryle, these reviews are genuine and will be staying here for everyone to see. If you want to take us to court then go ahead, we won't allow you to silence us this time. People need to know what you and Star Clean are really like! Perhaps you should try trading with pride and professionalism and you wouldn't be in this mess? Threatening customers with court action because they are telling others about your shocking service is just wrong, you should be ashamed of yourself!! If you put as much effort into providing a good service as you put into covering up your unprofessionalism, you might actually be capable of carrying out decent, honest work. I advise anyone reading this to seek an alternative company to carry out your cleaning requirements.

I've genuinely never been so disappointed with a company in my life!! We booked a deep clean with this company, they turned up late, didn't stay the full time allocated and they did a terrible job. (Didn't clean half of the areas that they were supposed to, and it certainly was not a 'deep clean') Upon complaining, we were promised a call back by Cheryle but she didn't call. This was in August. 4 months went by, she failed to call and we obviously didn't pay (we thought that she had seen sense and decided to write the invoice off and forget about it) Then out of the blue we receive a voicemail from her receptionist saying that they are taking us to the small claims court to recover the invoice fee!! No callback, no discussion, no information, nothing, straight to court!! Upon trying to contact the company to speak with Cheryle, we were completely stonewalled. The receptionist wouldn't let us speak to her, she was unbelievably rude, hanging up the phone on us 3 times. We finally spoke to the Cheryle, who point blank refused to accept the job wasn't done properly no matter what we said. We asked her why she never called us back at the time of the complaint and she said she wasn't notified about it at the time, then later on in another conversation she admitted that she was informed about the complaint on the day of the job and that she remembered speaking with the staff in question about our complaint. Clearly caught out lying to us. But even after she slipped up and admitted that she was informed of the complaint on the day, we then asked AGAIN why we didn't receive a call back at the time of the complaint and she said she couldn't give us an answer for that. She then preceded to tell us that the job was done properly, and refused to listen to our description of what happened on the day. She told us she was taking us to court for fees and that she was also making us pay for the court fees too. So our 78.00 bill could have had hundreds of pounds added on top should we happen to lose the court case. We then tried to reason with her and suggested that rather than us going to court we should discuss the incident first and try to come to a resolution. We explained that we had taken several pictures on the day that proved the areas of our house had in fact not been cleaned at all and that we would be happy to send them to her so that she could have a look. We sent them, she seen them (clear evidence that they hadn't done their job) and she still refused to admit that they had failed us. But still, we gave Cheryle the chance to resolve things. We suggested that she reduce the bill in half to compensate for the areas that weren't cleaned, and we said that we would pay it that day. She refused! She told us that she was taking us to court for the full invoice plus court fees and solicitors charges! She told us that her staff members had agreed to go to court to back up her claims that they did carry out the full deep clean. We were furious! We wanted to go to court to fight our case as we shouldn't have paid for a service that we didn't receive, but it was risky. If we had lost the case we would have had to pay hundreds of pounds which is unacceptable. We ended up paying the invoice in full to ensure that didn't happen. We were bullied into paying for a service that we didn't get. Not once did Cheryle apologise to us for providing a sub-standard clean, not once did she take our opinion into consideration. She is argumentative, unprofessional, condescending, and extremely defensive! It doesn't matter what you say to this woman, she will twist it around on you and throw it back in your face. No matter how guilty her and her company are, she will never admit to it or try to resolve any issues that you may have. She is in total denial. She doesn't know the meaning of customer service, or have the inclination to ensure that her customers are happy and satisfied. It goes without saying that I wouldn't use this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. There are far better cleaning companies in Dundee.
