We have been regular customers of the Newton Stewart shop for the last 30+ years and have NEVER had any complaints.
We ordered a new sideboard unit from the Newton Stewart branch in March 22 with delivery May 22 and paid a subtantial deposit. Advised that the Newton Stewart branch was closing, that the Dumfries branch would arrange delivery and we should expect a call nearer to the delivery date.
May arrived with no communication. Phoned the Dumfries branch and was met with a curt response with no date given for delivery.
No further calls received so phoned again on 17th June to be told the unit was now in stock and would be delivered on Friday 24th June. Paid balance in full before delivery.
Unit was delivered as arranged on 24th June, however the delivery team advised that the small brackets for mounting the internal shelf were missing. New brackets would be sent out ASAP.
Friday 1st July (1 week later) and still no brackets received. Phoned again to be told that the delivery team hadn't advised the office and that new brackets would be posted out ASAP.
Finally arrived and unit completed on Wednesday 6th July - but not until we had to go to the local sorting office and pay an extra 1.50 to retreive the parcel because enough postage hadn't been paid!
