CARPETWRONG. This store is now a branch of Carpetright, there are now 2 Carpetright stores in Dumfries a stones throw from each other. They do not liase well, and staff openly criticise the other store (error). The fitting date was put off as the carpet wasn't delivered in time (communication error), this was very inconvenient for my tight completion schedule. When the fitter arrived to fit, the carpet was not the colour I ordered, though oddly the label did match the order. (Warehouse/stock data error). I then lost a days pay making a 2 hour round trip to drive to the store to prove the colour/quality difference, and trying to source another carpet at short notice elsewhere. The floor staff agreed it was a different carpet. The manager FRASER, kept telling me I should expect a difference in shade, (ie I was making a fuss) altho he hadn't actually seen the 2 carpets in question!!! (Management error) AT NO POINT DID HE APOLOGISE FOR THE BAD SERVICE afforded by this company at every level, or acknowledge that I had not even received the item I ordered. The fitter, who arrived on time, couldn't have been more helpful. Interestingly he is not employed by Carpetright, but contracted to the customer. I lost, time, money and likely the sale of my house as the fitting was highly time critical, and I now faced a 3 week wait for any fitting anywhere. There was no acknowledgement of this loss and inconvenience, and he actually dismissed me from the shop! Genuinely shocking and among the worst retail experiences I've ever had. Many other people have agreed with me about Carpetright on my subsequent hunt for a replacement option. My advice is DO NOT deal with this company, it is incredibly badly managed. Support the independent shops, they care about providing a reliable service.

I bought my carpets here when I was 18 and on a lower budget. The staff member gave me a discount on the lovely carpet I wanted as I was covering the whole house. I wanted to give my home a hard or vinyl covering even way back then and it wasn't available. I've had laminate for 16 years now in this home. Some of it was brought up from my home in London. It lasts forever. Carpet is dead, rugs are in
