I've always had great service at this particular branch from the managers and desk clerks alike. It's usually quiet which means you are processed pretty quickly.

I have only ever received excellent service, guidance and help from all the bank staff in Dumfries HSBC. They are friendly, courteous and always ready to help.

If I could give zero stars that wouldn't be low enough for these rude, officious, lazy incompetents. Maybe it's coming from the manager

Only gave 1 star because you couldn't select none. My 92 year old invalid mother tried to open an account with HSBC as they are one of only 3 UK banks that will cash foreign currency cheques. They demanded Passport or Driving Licence as 1 of the forms of id. Pretty standard, but as she is housebound and never driven, she has neither. This started a month of limbo, finally being referred to the Dumfries branch where she lives. It seems that the robotic procedural approach that this bank takes means that there is not a single human being employed by them who can make a decision in a slightly unusual case like my Mother's. Suffice to say, if you are a 92 year old invalid in desperate need of a bank account for whatever reason, probably dont go near HSBC.
