I was there last wensday ent dept, I was denied a biopsy on a lump in my throat by the man who did my scan. Since then I managed to get a biopsy done then when the results came the surgeon was told to take my thyroid out but she cannot guarantee I will survive the surgery

I am currently in the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. I cannot fault the staff, the medical, nursing, and support staff have all been fantastic. However, this is supposed to be single-patient rooms throughout the entire hospital. So far I have been doubled up twice with other patients, and then put in a bed placed in a day treatment room with no heating or facilities (they had to take the bed apart to get it through the door). The hospital design is not fit for purpose, its far too small.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff of the A&E department on Monday January the 9th. From triage to discharge I was given exceptionally good care with a positve outcome. It was clear to see that all the staff were working under extreme pressure, however it was evident that sound leadership in the department has created an atmosphere where team work flourishes and the staff were able to be patient focused . As a patient ,I appreciated the kindness and expertise of the nurses and doctors, It helped me feel secure and less worried. I hope there will be an easing of the present circumstances very soon.
