The communal areas of this hotel are well maintained, including the pool and spa areas. Corridors and rooms are a little tired. I spent an additional 10 to upgrade to an executive room which was well worth it. Unfortunately they were not serving evening meals however there are a number of places in the village that do. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, instead we went over the road to a cafe directly opposite and had an excellent (and cheaper) breakfast. Overall, we had a good stay which we thought was very good value for money.

Had an absolutely horrible time at this hotel. They stuck us in the horrible basement room. The bathroom door kept getting jammed. Had to shower with scolding hot water. At night when I tried to switch off the main light, the power tripped and I had to go out in them idle of the night tracked down the bartender who had to help us get the power back in our room. In the morning I went to go speak to the daytime manager and he didn't even acknowledge our presence. Heard our difficulties we faced in the room and shrugged and just walk away not a simple apology for the inconvenience. I was shocked by such poor customer service. Or maybe it was just the color of my skin.

Staff were very nice throughout our stay. Room we had needs upgraded and modernised including TV. Breakfast was very poor and cold and did not meeting the standard of the nice dining area. Leisure area was great with a really nice swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Bar was nice and there iare nice quiet areas to enjoy a drink, read or relax. Initially disappointed with room and particularly food which will need to be addressed quickly but other aspects of the hotel including the staff were good.

Late booking idea after a family bereavment and a worn out husband. Not a long drive after finishing work on Friday. We used to go on Wedding Anniversaries 20 odd years ago, we fancied cosying up next to the fireplaces and totally chilling. We paid 90 for a superior king room for the night, the picture looked luxurious and appealling on the site. The room just made us laugh, parts of the beds base were so old were lying on the floor. We went to the bar once, they seemed startled and bemused that we might, ordered two generic G&Ts, the staff who seemed like she shouldnt be there asked if we would like gin glasses then served us in any old glass, no lemon or lime offered as seemed was none. We had booked dinner, it was reasonable, asked for the wine list, waitress, who had served us at the bar looked utterly defeated, they had pinot grigio, "a rosy" they thoight... asked for some water, they forgot. It was not busy. Food was reasonably presented tbf. We switched the heater on next to our table as was cold. Staff trying their best and so passively apologetic was tragic so never said a word. Had a great night out in Dryman. Despite having paid for breakfast, could not face the farce and left first light. Memories of a nice place, good bar, excellent food are 20+ years old. Will not return. Can get way better for 90
