They were endlessly patient with my many first-time-buyer questions, and not pushy either while I made up my mind.
It's been a few months and so far I've had no trouble at all with the van on my trips around Scotland, apart from once when I arrived to find my leisure battery wasn't working. I phoned Campers Scotland immediately. It turned out that a fuse had blown. I was (very patiently) talked through the replacement, and as a result had working lights and fridge for the weekend.

Of course, the guarantee has now expired, and the general manager took that opportunity to wash his hands of it - even though the current problem started well before the guarantee expired, in fact within the first 3 months of ownership. The flex plate was originally fixed under guarantee, but no attempt was made to find a root cause (even though we specifically asked for this) and the flex plate failed again approximately 9 months after we got the van back.
The local garage that looked at the van after the second failure noticed a ~4 inch crack in the engine block that had a bodged putty repair and was leaking oil. The only fix for this is a new engine. We are convinced the van was supplied with the cracked block but the general manager has refused to accept this even though the only people who had worked on it since we bought it were Campers Scotland and a local garage who fixed a cam shaft oil seal (after the first flex plate failure). So now we also facing a hefty bill to have the engine replaced.
Despite the general manager refusing any further assistance, one of the Campers Scotland staff acknowledged later, by phone, that there was likely an engine problem that had caused the two flex plate failures (we firmly believe that the cracked block is further evidence of a bad engine). This staff member then ordered the second flex plate for us which we are still waiting for.
This has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience for us with no sign of any respite. And I've not mentioned the mouldy roof tent or the central locking failures. Avoid Campers Scotland, they will try every trick in the book to evade responsibility.
