I am a 65 year old male,I went in to see if I could see a dentist today as I was in agony, only to be told by a very rude, unsympathetic receptionist I can give you a number to ring but we have closed our books as we are so busy,I then asked if I could see a dentist for five minutes as I am in agony and am quite willing to pay for any consultation only to be handed a piece of paper with a phone number and then ignored. All she had to do was take a few seconds and ask a dentist if this was possible and see if anyone had a few minutes to spare, how would she feel if the role were reversed,I WENT HOME IN AGONY.I realize other people have appointments and have priority but in an emergency??Do the dentists get to know about about these things and what is happening in their practice?I do hope so.

Girls are nice.. Mr Johnston? what a very rude man! Spoke over me the whole time I was in the dental nurse seemed very uncomfortable. I had root canal treatment on a tooth that in fact had nothing wrong with it..the dentist ASSUMED that it was the correct tooth without asking me. Only to discover through a week of pain the tooth had to come out. As the rct didn't work. 2 weeks of pain through a wisdom tooth that didn't need taken out at all!!! So now I'm still left with a tooth that still needs rct done to it.. thanks
