Denholm is a nice little village between Jedburgh and Hawick, so I guess it needs friendly little places for people to use regularly, and I appreciate how hard it is to run a business at the moment. However, it needs to be said, I honestly didn't find it a particularly nice atmosphere. The greeting wasn't friendly, and I felt like perhaps we were "in the way", maybe because we aren't local, who knows. There was a family group of 8 of us.
We had a range of food (not a huge menu choice as one would expect due to a small establishment) of pizzas and pasta. What we had was nice, but they were small portions for the price. One of the dishes was unavailable and weirdly felt, by the tone, that we "should have known" (perhaps there was a sign up, but we didn't see anything).
There is a small car park, but it isn't needed as there is parking on the road around the green area. It's probably a good idea to book during "peak" times, I would assume.
Anyway, it is a nice place to visit, but personally, I would not be in a rush to return.
