        Rooms: Decorated in the style of the big house Our room (8) was spacious, warm and welcoming and a nice big shower Walkability: Plenty of walks around the extensive grounds Food & drinks: Both the dinner and the breakfast were excellent

        I couldn't recommend Dumfries House Lodge more highly. Our room was absolutely spotless, thanks to the housekeeping team. A great bunch of ladies and we enjoyed talking to them. They were kind enough to show us some of the other beautiful rooms. Our room was perfect. All of the staff are at the top of their game. So friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Colin and his team do hospitality the way it should be done. Our meals were fantastic. Such a relaxing and interesting place to stay. The gardens are gorgeous. And then there's Dumfries House and all the amazing things it has to offer a very short walk away. We will be back again and again. We are both sad we only spent two nights.
