Alamo Rent A Car - Inverness Airport

We collected our car from Alamo and were pleased with the collection from the airport. We were assured the car had been fully checked but there was only 1/8 a tank of petrol...not ideal as I had booked with a full tank. We went on our way and less than 5 minutes up the road the tyre sensor came on - we'd been assured this was checked. We arrived in Elgin and the oil light came on - again we were told this had been checked! We phoned and were told to pop to Elgin branch and they would check....they did....and we were told "its a vauxhall, you'll get lists of lights" So, lights on we carried on. We drove the car only 2 days of the rental, probably a maximum 150 miles, including from and to the airport. The oil light was intermittent, the tyre light constant! On return we were advised that there was tyre damage, a cut, and we'd have to pay the excess of 100. We had not had any impact on the road so I am more than confident that we did not cause this damage. When I told the area manager this I was just told that driving from Inverness to Elgin it was unlikely I wouldn't have hit a pothole and he was sorry. I'll be honest, he didn't seem it. The lady we collected the car from and had called when the lights came on didn't come near us throughout the return...no surprise. AVOID. The car had issues from the moment we collected (well, 5 minutes later) that have been completely disregarded on return. The 1 star is really only for the shuttle from the airport!!

Top service from Sharon. Picked up on time and very professional. Very convenient location if doing the NC500 from Inverness. The car had an excellent holiday as did we.

Booked a car at the last minute with Alamo, Inverness airport. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. The service received was faultless. Would definitely recommend and use again.
