Visited Cullen last weekend - stopped at the Royal Oak for a pint and a meal. Location - situated by the viaduct overlooking the ocean. If you sit in the beer garden you don't get the benefit of the views, however, it is secure area for dogs and children. Food - ordered a Nacho to share as a starter. This was perfectly nice, plenty of cheese and source. Could have done with more Jalapeo peppers though (only 3 on my starter) and for two people that is not a lot. For mains, ordered a Lamb burger and Beef Burger. These came with chips and salad. I had to pay extra for cheese for the beef burger as this did not come as standard. Unfortunately, they put the cheese on the lamb burger and not the beef burger, as it was a cheese slice had melted in and therefore could not be taken off. As it was a very hot day and I did not want to send the food back, my wife and I just swapped burgers. This aside the burgers were very nice, the chips were crispy and salad fresh. In summary I enjoyed my meal the food was fresh and tasty and I would go back. I raised the issue with the cheese and the manager apologised, but I enjoyed my meal and was happy with the food and service.
