There are some great shows on this station but I've always felt like some of the presenters are being held back by the station. I feel the guy who runs it uses the small amount of power that he has to stroke his lethargic ego and takes his presenters for granted. Yes it is a voluntary position but I've heard the way he speaks AT his presenters and quite frankly I feel Mark needs to actually step up and run the station properly and fairly instead of giving people special treatment because they "spend time together" out of work hours. The man squashes the presenters abilities to create and actually hold a decent show, is impossible to get a hold of and her insists nothing can be done on the shows without his say so, all because he knows that over seeing a volunteer position at a hospital radio station is the very peak of his achievement and power, so taking that out on the young, up and coming presenters is the only way he can make himself feel better. So the shows are worth a listen but I hope the guy that runs it sneezes in his own soup.

I am proud to say I am one of the latest presenters having joined in October, having been with another hospital radio team in the past,I can truly say that Mark and the team are professional giving all the help and support during training and beyond. I have nothing but admiration for all my fellow presenters with whom it is a privilege to work with. I would recommend hbsa to anyone who wished to join and definitely a place where once trained you have freedom to express your musical choices. Please note I am not related to Mark although he does have a great surname.
