Was looking forward to this stay - for three nights, travelling from Kent for a long awaited wedding, however 5-6 weeks before our stay we were unceremoniously told to rebook somewhere else as they had cancelled our booking , they had a government contract taking over the whole hotel for months apparently!!!!! Words fail me - we booked months ago and now have to scrabble around and find another place to stay - not our lovely four poster and pool / spa that we were looking forward to. Good for them with lots of money coming in.. bad for us .was so livid when I telephoned to clarify the situation that I dropped my lunch in my lap!!!! Noteworthy details: Never really got to see it!!!!!

WEDDINGS AVOID! Less than 11 weeks before my sister's wedding they cancelled all the hotel bedrooms booked for the wedding, including the Bridal Suite! They prioritised a late booked four month corporate contract over weddings between the 29th of May and at least 4 months after, multiple weddings have been affected. The main reason my sister booked was because of the rooms being close to the venue with multiple guest travelling from overseas and England. If I am honest, the venue is average at best but the convenience of the rooms was needed. Jason Doga, the General Manager, did not even have the decency to call and instead sent a short email with a list of alternate local hotels with the larger hotel's rooms already being fully booked for that date. This will cost my sister indirectly hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. This has caused my whole family and the couple immense stress less than three months before the big day. My sister will be looking at alternate venues all together because of this. With multiple weddings affected this is unacceptable and greed from the hotel. Avoid. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In reply to your reply. The attention to detail you have for my name (which is in my review) isn't a surprise from an organisation that lacks customer service. This is literally the biggest day of some of these couples' lives and your compensation is laughable after the distress you've caused them. Big shout out to Garvock House Hotel who will now host my sister's wedding. A much much better venue.

Loved our stay here. The staff were so helpful and friendly especially with the kids. The swimming pool is lovely and the food was really good. The hotel is in a really quiet location. Rooms: Our room was spacious and clean.

My partner & I stayed over the weekend 28th,29th and left on Sunday morning, the 30th of April 23. We were attending a wedding which was brilliant & everyone had a good time. The room we had was nice & clean, but we couldn't see what made our room an executive room, which I presume may be of a higher cost? On Friday night, 20 of the wedding party booked a large table for dinner, my partner had the fish & I had beef burginon. My meal was quite salty, so I left half of it. I was going to mention this but was sidetracked because my partner became ill. My partner said her meal was fine & had nothing to do with her illness. The wedding food was OK, but drinks can be a bit on the high side. The Leasure facilities were great & all the staff were excellent. The grounds are quite nice & we enjoyed a walk. There is a smashing local bakery just outside of the hotel, I recommend giving that a visit. We did and brought back some goodies for home.
