I rang up to see about sizing an order for a new tartan to be included in the Scottish Register of tartans. (I now only need the sample sent to Edinburgh) I was delighted by a warm welcome on the phone by Clare, a lady with a true passion for textile and fashion. I knew there'd be a minimum order as setting up is a lengthy process but we would have needed a few yards anyway. It won't be a short journey but I'm now definitely excited to see where we go, in terms of kilt and indeed outfit design. I'm confident we're in good hands, -Lee Williamson. To be continued....

We visited Prickly Thistle while on a roadtrip to Scotland and the NC500. Easily one of my favourite stops - Clare talked to us about the history of tartan and their mission to make it a part of Highland heritage again. We also saw the old weaving mills. They have beautiful products and are part of campaigns on driving a sustainable supply chain too which is great to see. Came home with a piece of the Highlands :)
