I had a great two-night stay at Merlindale earlier this summer when I was in Crieff for a wedding. It was a last minute booking, so I was grateful to find a room at the weekend, but I knew from the moment I walked in the door it was absolute luxury. The reception is stylish and I was greeted warmly by the owners (out of usual arrival hours). The room was stylish and spacious, with a huge comfy bed and lovely herbal teas, as well as whisky for a nightcap. Breakfast was great and other guests were also friendly. Can highly recommend and I cant wait to visit again!

As soon as we arrived we knew we was in for a treat.we wasnt disappointed, the host Paul greeted us after our 7 long hour journey with the offer of a cup of tea or coffee, which was brought to our room, the entrance hall was elegantly decorated and a lovely glass vase with flowers was a nice touch, and scented potpourri filled the air, the stair case has been decorated to perfection and even has a chais lounge at the top of the stairs. we was shown to our rooms and explained everything we could think of, the room itself was spacious and airy, the bed was a delight, super cosy and warm too, this room had en-suite locally sourced hand soap, hair and shower gel and moisturiser in large bottles too. the room had usb plugs which was a godsend along with a radio, tv, free Wi-Fi, coffee and tea making facilities a large bottle of fresh water that tasted amazing and even a small decanter of brandy for a nightcap should you wish that was beautifully laid out, the best bit was the home made shortbreadyummy! The hosts have even thought of a makeup towel, what a brilliant idea meaning I didnt have to worry about getting make up on the white towels supplied, they have really thought of everything here! There was a instruction card and a tourists book to see where to go. The town itself has plenty to offer and the locals were very friendly. We visited the glenturret which was a touch of luxury., and the scone palace which is breathtaking to say the least the maze was fun. The breakfast was something else..first you are greeted with an array of homemade granola that was incredible, fresh fruit, muesli, cereal, fresh juices, we thought this was lovely, and didnt expect what came next..the host brought a pot of tea or coffee then you are offered the main even a selection of hot breakfast to blow your socks off, the scrambled egg and salmon is a must, my husband had the full English breakfast and even tried the haggis! The wife Helen worked her socks off in the background but you can tell its had a womans touch! It was worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion, the hosts Paul and Helen cannot do enough for you, very knowledgeable and extremely friendly nothing is too much trouble. If you visit Scotland this B&B is above the rest and is a absolute must, I will definitely return to the Merlindale, thank you for making our weekend a super special one.

So happy we decided on Merlindale for a short one night stay. We stayed in the Thistle room with the separate bathroom and really enjoyed the extra space of the full bath which was not inconvenient at all directly across the hall and still very private. The room was immaculately clean, very comfortable, and the breakfast was a highlight prepared by Helen. Paul is a gracious and welcoming host who really made this a standout stay in our trip around Scotland! Easy access to town on foot as well. Thank you for running a fabulous place!
