The Lodge

We booked this place for a stag do for 16 people. No complaints - decent communication in the run up to the booking, the house was clean and tidy on arrival, the location was excellent, plenty of parking etc. For a booking of our size there are quite a few beds in each room but it served our purpose just fine. Good sized kitchen with ample cooking facilities and multiple fridges and a nice big separate dining area. Also plenty of toilet/shower facilities which was handy for the large group. We left the house pretty much as we found it and there were no issues with our security deposit. Conveniently located for some near by activities (Fyne Ales Brewery, water sports etc) and lovely views from the house itself. Would stay here again. Loved a recent stay here with a group of girls for a hen-do. The house is lovely and big with all the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay. Mike was so great at helping us with any wee issues or questions we had and made the whole experience so fun with the scavenger hunt he organises too. The hot tub wasnt very hot for some reason though Mike did try to remedy this but overall, amazing trip and Id love to come back here with a big family or friend group! A short drive away from some great food and tourist spots too

Just came back from my hen weekend here that was organised by my lovely bridesmaids and friends. Mike was welcoming and friendly, and was only a call/text away if we needed anything or had to ask a question. The house fit all of us comfortably, the massive baths were a bonus, and we had an amazing weekend away! The food provided for our dinner on the second night was absolutely outstanding and the views from the rooms were incredible! Would organise another weekend here

Stayed the weekend at the lodge for a hen weekend for my friend. From the start Mike the owner was super accommodating. The house is fantastic for groups with a big living room space and dining table too. We all loved the use of the hot tub and the organised scavenger hunt Mike did. We also paid for the option to get a three course dinner provided for us and this was all delicious. Totally recommend for a group get away!

On the positive side it is a lovely old house with stunning views. It was clean and warm when we arrived and we had a great time. On the negative side the booking was very badly handled since there was no reply from the host for days on end two weeks before our weekend and we thought that we had lost our deposit ( which was very stressful). The house has great potential but it is really a bit like an over priced youth hostel. Extra beds are crammed into the rooms and you are left to make up your own beds ( tough for some elderly folk in the party). Assumptions were also made about the make of our group which meant there was insufficient bedding provided and we had to text for more. A loose and unsafe stair carpet was not fixed despite being pointed out, there are illegal sockets in the bathrooms and a lack of some basics (no washing up liquid, no plug for the sink and no washing up bowl). The long list of instructions was overkill while the walk around inspection at the end is demeaning despite Mike the host being pleasant and helpful while doing it.
