Booked a week at Melldaloch for myself, husband and 3 dogs. When we arrived the lodge was open. Initially first impression was ok just perhaps a little tired. The site isnt very well kept, lots of other lodges very run down lodges.
On further inspection we discovered chipped Crockery,dirty discoloured glasses, a hole in the chair by the window that was filthy, stained and blood on duvets (thank goodness we had our own bedding with us) the on suite shower room was absolutely disgraceful, shower had obviously came of the wall and been stuck back on leaving huge holes, black mould and mildew round the seals. The mattress on the bed was thin and possibly the worst Ive ever slept in. The hot tub kept forming a scum line and we expressed our concerns to the owners who told us it was due to the chemicals they use. Utter rubbish its just not maintained properly!!! Goodness knows when it was last drained and cleaned properly.Half painted decking!!! The list is endless and I have the pics to prove it. We stuck it out for a few days and decided to call it a day and head home.

Yes, the lodge is not brand new but its very well kept and was impeccably clean. The tub was spotless and serviced every other day- as a result the water remained pristine till our last day. Most of all , the location is simply amazing, peaceful and remote with fantastic walks and views at the doorstep.
The park is surprisingly quiet for its size , we only saw Alison when she kindly serviced the hot tub.
The hosts are very helpful and friendly and comms could not have been easier.
Fantastic place, truly recommend!
