If you are looking for an impressive historical site, this is not it. Parking is at the roadside on a minor road alongside the viewpoint overlooking the battlefield. The viewpoint appears to be a reclaimed coal bing topped with a series of display panels describing the battle and its context. What makes the visit worthwhile are the views and descriptive panels that explain how the Jacobites Highlanders army defeated the General Copes government soldiers.
