Harry Ramsden's

Services were very busy but hardly anyone at Harry Ramsdens. I ordered and found they were only cooking to order at 13.50 pm. Nothing in the display cabinet. Is this company policy ? If I was a share holder I would not be happy ! The batter was soggy and just fell off the fish as all good friers know you need to leave it to dry and crisp up. Fish and batter were tasteless. Chips were OK. Lots of potential to improve.

Both fish and chips were almost raw and not well cooked. It was a waste of money.

Mediocre feed. I had the traditional breakfast with a bottle of water (tap water wasnt available). Egg was underdone but everything else was okay. Also loses stars because theyre served in non-recyclable take away containers and they give you wooden cutlery that makes chopping and eating difficult

Went for the full English, they do have an ultimate which is bigger and then a smaller version. Egg cooked to perfection, bacon and sausage were superb. "Black pudding' - well every time now some mentions these words I get a flashback of this breakfast. It was so so so so tasty.

Sat 23rd Apr at around 3pm. I ordered fish and chips plus a scampi without chips, plus 2 drinks. The wait will he about 7 minutes I was told whist your order is cooked. So far so good... The member of staff was alone with trainee on his badge. He dished up the fish and chips, then got me a scampi and chips. He read the monitor first to check what we had ordered. I explained that I asked for scampi only. So a new tray and my scampi was moved over. He then proceeded to sort the drinks out..... Surely you do the drinks whist waiting for the food to cook... Ok food now in my hands and off to find a table to sit down and eat with my other half. Half way through the chips I discovered that there was a hair in amongst the chips. I then went to see the manager who had arrived by then, who tried to bluff that the other member of staff wasn't a trainee, as they hadn't been able to get him a badge. He also said that he wasn't working alone, fortunately the young lad backed me up and said "yes I've been alone, for a long time ". The manager offered to give me more chips which I refused, as I had my fill, by eating the fish. The manager also said that the hair could have come from anywhere. The hairs that we found were jet black, my husband and I have grey hair. When the food box was empty we found a second hair. I showed it to the trainee who just shrugged his shoulders. We will never go there again.
