Is it normal practice for reception staff to say to a customer that theyre lucky they didnt slap them? Disgusting way to treat my mother after messing up her insulin prescription and making her run around muirhead to find where it is.

I think people need to remind themselves that if you take the GP title away, what have you got? Another human being. They have families too. So the lack of face to face during the pandemic was necessary. If someone came in with covid the doctors would be at risk at taking that home to there own kids and families. Also, they were seeing people face to face, the whole phone call first was also necessary to fish out all these people that should not make an appointment. For example - if you think you have a broken bone that's straight to a and e as the surgery doesn't have an x Ray and if you think getting a letter from the gp to go to hospital cuts the time, well it doesn't. As children and emergency patients always get seen first at the hospital. Also, a lot of people before the pandemic made appointments and didn't turn up. That goes onto my second point. Doctors are late seeing patients as they have always been thorough and staying late just to deal with patients. Including calling with results. I've not met one doctor in that practice that hasnt went out there way just to make sure whatever you are ill with they deal with it. So, yeah maybe spare a littlle nice thought for the doctors. As understaffed as they are they are working there butts off just to provide there services. I know it can be frustrating but they do have a lot of patients at the practice also, and that's not undermining whatever you have. Love and light xxx
