The building is a lovely design and has big rooms inside for local commjnity events or to let out as education or fitness teaining rooms or meeting rooms. Sadly the building is looking old and tired and needs some care and attention. The local people who use it and the staff who run it are very nice, helpful and friendly. The old Institute building is also the Catrine Commjnity Centre and is home to Catrine Library and food larder. Operated by the Catrine Community Trust (CCT), the larder is open at the A.M. Brown Institute in the village every Tuesday from 2.30-4.30pm, and again each Thursday, this time from 5.30-7pm. The Institute has seen several new classes starting, including yoga with Carlo on a Monday at 6.30pm, sound bath therapy on a Wednesday (fortnightly), crafting with Lorraine on a Thursday (fortnightly) and knit and natter on a Wednesday at 10am.

It's a fantastic old building, old skool community centre type of place. Needs a bit of work and TLC, but has an ambience and feel about it that you will never get with a modern build. Great vibes when you are in it and easy to get fond if it, despite its condition.
