Violet Grove Holiday Cottage

Lovely cottage on the edge of town, overlooking Parkland and Carlingwark Loch, short walk into Castle Douglas town, very convenient for lots of local places to visit or walks around the parkland, Threave Gardens (National Trust) less than a mile out of town. Not to far to travel to Kirkcudbright, lovely town to visit, lots of museums and Broughton House (NationalTrust). Violet Grove is a lovely cottage, downstairs is open plan and the log burner was great on cold days. The bedrooms are very comfortable and well presented. For us a home from home! Thank you Donald and Vicky for letting us share this delightful cottage, we will come back again.

Excellent, comfortable break. Very clean, warm and overlooking a superb loch. The steps need renewing outside & if disabled will struggle but overall superb & pretty well dog friendly although only downstairs. You will need plenty of dog blankets for your pouch to wipe feet on. Log fire is lovely, bathroom & shower good too. Relaxing stay. Excellent Thrieve gardens very nearby and #treeoftheyear just down the road at #Kippford with plenty of dog friendly walks & national trust places. Local Resteraunt lovely too with plenty to choose from within short driving & walking distance. Would recommend Susan & Drew Patterson
