I'm not a local, a recent blow-in tbh, so can say this is an unbiased review... It's a really ground to watch football at. Good views wherever you are. The single stand is well covered if you need it and i couldn't see a single damaged or missing seat which made me think its well looked after. There is a really nice club house to get a mid game brew, beer or whatever and it's open before and after the game too. With it being in Kirkcudbrightshire there's always a fair chance of a bit of wind and rain so dress with that in mind but don't be surprised if it's bright blue sky either (or maybe all weather types across the 90 minutes!). Threave, unfortunately, don't appear to have a big following so the atmosphere is sometimes a bit lacking and traveling fans frequently "take over" the noise levels but it's always felt like banter & safe rather than the aggro you often get at some of the central belt stadiums (sorry that's a massive generalisation but that's my experience ). Parking isn't great, on the narrow street outside. Finally, it's well worth a visit for groundhoppers and holidayers, mostly because it's very welcoming and the staff and locals are all really nice.
