We have stayed in the Mabie Lodge from 30th Dec to 3rd Jan. Prices are very competitive for a great lodge. Tracy and Neil are very nice and welcoming. The area is nice and peaceful, no fireworks (grateful of). The cabin was very comfortable and in good condition, although a little dusty and cobwebs in places but where doesn't. It was particularly cold outside, the hot-tub runs for 5mins then stops for 2-3mins, I expect while it heats water as its cooling fast. The area around hot-tub would benefit from a jet wash and some hooks to hang robes on but its okay. The lodge heating was preset, Tracy asked us to not adjust the thermostat (no reason explained about why), just use radiator valves, which works OK to regulate the temperature but I sleep light and had to use thermostat to stop the boiler buzzing while trying to sleep - same thermostat as home, and worked fine when I did adjust it down (it was set high). We had some heavy frost, and the steps to the cabin became really slippery, but didn't look it, I fell. I reported it to Tracy, Neil quickly came with salt and it helped. Kind of Neil to come so fast. Just be aware if it's frosty so you don't slip too. Would recommend.
