I've been here many times over the years for special occasions and every time it has been consistently excellent. After seeing it was up for sale I assumed it was no longer open and so I was pleasantly surprised when I phoned up on the off chance to book a table to find out they were still open! I love the 'timewarp' ambience of this place and the food combined with friendly service rounds it all off to being a lovely experience.

We went for lunch it was lovely. The decor is dated but it is part of the charm, in that you can fully immerse yourself in the dining experience and it is a dining experience. We recommend the Breaded mushrooms and prawn cocktail to start. Food was really good, and even better a good pot of tea. Service is polite and friendly. The entrance vestibule is enchanting. Don't be put off by the for sale sign, it is simply that the family wish to retire but it is still going as, Traditional Scottish Period Baronial Manor House. Definitely worth the look if nothing else. Nearby activities: It is a great location, in regards to both travel and visiting Falkirk sites (Falkirk wheel, kelpies, Callendar House etc). Motorway is near by without feeling like it is on your doorstep
