Our stay at Eshaness was absolute bliss! I don't know how else to say it, but this will be the best place you ever stay on the west coast of Scotland. The house is hugely spacious with many areas to chill out and enjoy the views out to the Isle of Eigg and Rum, with forest surrounding the house making it feel like your own personal private retreat. My favourite spot was the top lounge where I spent many an hour reading my books while listening to the birds outside including the cuckoo and the neighbouring woodpecker. I also enjoyed sitting out on the deck on a sunny morning and watching the gorgeous Rona & Lunna (Shetland ponies) play in the field in front of the house while drinking a cup of tea. They are the most beautiful companions and always up for a pat and a sneaky carrot. Many a day was spent baking cakes and cooking up feasts with the best equipped kitchen I have ever had whilst travelling, you can also watch the many many birds on the feeder through the kitchen window. The beds are super comfy and the top bedroom has velux windows so you can see the stars while lieing in bed at night. We went for a walk each day, sometimes along Rhu Road to see the seals, other times we went down the dirt road next door and searched for the baby sheep, deer and the huge array of wildflowers in the woods. Everything is walking distance and you can drive just down the road to Traigh and Camusdarach beach to see otters, sea eagles and explore the rock pools. And that is just the house, I can't forget to mention the absolutely amazing Jill & Duncan - the most lovely people you could ever meet! They were beyond helpful with everything we needed, always happy for a chat and telling us about all the great things to do in the area. You won't find better hosts! Thank you so much for the amazing stay at Eshaness, we will definitely be back and will recommend this beautiful cottage to everyone we know. Miss you all xxx
