There are only two negatives about this place. A distinct lack of firewood. And incredibly enthusiastic midges. The location is superb, looking straight out over the adjacent beach to the sea. The inside is mostly very clean, aside from where building materials have been stored. A handful of chairs to sit on. Decent work top to cook on. New sleeping area upstairs accessed via a very steep wooden staircase. Room to sleep downstairs also, albeit the rear window suffers a leak. Well worth the walk to get here, just be prepared to ford the river on the way back if it's been raining overnight.

Guirdhil Bothy is one of the secret gems of Rum. If youre committed to trek to the remote location on the Island then youll not be disappointed with the views, the wild company and the beach combing and views from the Bloodstone Hill ridge.
